KYOCERA FINECERAMICS HAS DEVELOPED A NEW STRONGER CERAMIC ZIRCONIA MATERIAL FOR HIGH DEMANDS

Based on our High-Performance Ceramic materials and our customers robust processes and demands, Kyocera has developed a new Zirconia material, which we call FZM+.

With this new material KYOCERA Fineceramics will be able to expand their market-share for new pump and valve applications with higher requirements as increased pressure and higher safety.

The new material FZM+ has outstanding properties like:

  • Higher fracture toughness
  • Better strength
  • High hydrothermal resistance
  • Low Young’s modulus

These increased properties together with the already known good corrosion resistance and high-quality surfaces make FZM+ to a fantastic material candidate for applications in harsh and challenging environment.

Kyocera Fineceramics sees an increased market e.g., in the markets Oil & Gas and Renewable Energies industry for products like Pressure Containment Shells for magnetic coupled pumps, Valve Components, High-Pressure Pistons, Sensor components and Flow Meters. The new material FZM+ offers safe and economic operations.

FZM+ has also high potential also for other applications like housings, shells, and tubes, which are exposed to high pressure differences or as linings for wire drawing and grinding equipment.

Kyocera Fineceramics has over 60 years of experience in the production and development of high-performance technical ceramics. KYOCERA Fineceramics Nordics AB is responsible for sales, marketing, project management and technical advice in northern Europe.
